This new dye kit is for anyone who would like to dye their own range of
coloured and patterned sewing and embroidery threads.
The kit contains -:
6 X 10g packets of Procion fibre reactive dye. Black, Magenta,
Turquoise, Yellow, Chinese red and Midnight blue
50g Manutex thickener
50g Urea
200g Soda ash
Gloves
50g 2 ply silk spun viscose approx (160 m)
50g 3 ply soft spun cotton approx (250 m)
50g 1 ply mercerised cotton approx (800m)
Measuring straws
Instructions for flat colours, graduated colours and random
space dyed effects
Household salt is not included in the kit but is needed for
the jug dyeing methods.
None of the methods described need boiling water and great
results are achievable by complete beginners.
Procion MX fibre-reactive cold water dyes are the best dyes
available for all cellulose fibres (Plant fibres) including
cotton, rayon, linen, hemp, flax, paper, reeds and wood. The
colours are very concentrated and are all intermixable so you
can easily create your own range of colours.
This new kit includes info on simple ways to calculate yarn and
chemical weights without scales and includes a pack of sample
measuring straws which will be easy for anyone to copy.
Refills for any of the items are available from us.
This would make an original present for anyone interested in
craft and embroidery.
